“I love Cigna. I have never had a problem with them paying my claims. I can call them at 24/7 and they have someone to answer my call and assist me with my issue. I love companies with 24-hour service. They really do seem to care about their customer’s needs.

CIGNA is terrible, I have them through Pizza Hut and they don’t pay for s**t. They lie and tell you it will be covered but after you go they send you a letter stating it wasn’t covered.

“I have Cigna through my employer Essilor, Inc. They are a multi-billion dollar corporation, but yet I pay nearly $900 a month for the lowest available plan for my family and I. I actually have not found anyone who pays even half that for the same plan, deductibles, etc…and I have talked to at least 50 different people in different types of companies.
Some of them actually pay just $150-$250 a month for the exact same plan I have. What a joke! I have to get a second job just to afford my health insurance. I’d be interested to see if there’s anyone else out there paying a similar premium for the lowest “”tier”” plan they have.
Someone’s pockets are getting fuller as mine are pulled inside out!”

“I have had Cigna for twelve years, and up until this year, they were great. Now they are denying a claim they approved, saying it wasn’t covered. Customer service is horrible and rude.
I just started looking around and it is sad how many lawsuits have been filed against them for the same thing. If you get it be sure you get WRITTEN proof of coverage before you make the claim.”

“I have been waiting and going through appeals for the past year and a half to get my knee fixed. It started when I was 16, and I am almost 18. I have been unable to function normally for quite some time.
Finally, an appeal is accepted, and surgery date set for the 28th of February. Then there is some sort of error that made it so it did not cover the most important aspect of the surgery (paper pusher error). Now it has to be pushed back another month. It’s funny because they stalled the process by saying it’s an experimental surgery (It is far from it).
Cigna needs to stop stalling so I can have the surgery and get on with my life. I will also post this on other cigna review sites just in case this does not get put up.”

“Everything is soooo expensive!
When my work had United, I was glad to have insurance. We changed to Cigna 2 years ago and I pay over 400/month out of paycheck (which I understand) but, recently, every appointment and prescription seem to be the same as if I didn’t have insurance.
$400 for a 3-minute blood draw at a lab, $300 for mammogram, $120 for generic medication, $200 for a doctor appt at the hospital that DOES take Cigna.
And I don’t trust them, the more I read about them. Sadness!!”

“I just recently acquired a Connecticut General/Cigna plan through my employer and I’m paying several thousand dollars a year for it. This company should be ashamed of themselves for the way they do business. The fact that they have a prescription cap of $500, annual out-patient cap of $1,250 and annual In-patient cap of $5,000 makes this one of the lousiest plans of “”coverage”” I have ever heard of.
It is only February and now because of a new diagnosis of a major illness, I have surpassed these caps weeks ago. So I cannot afford the medication my illness requires, I cannot afford the specialist it requires, and I cannot afford any trips to the ER or hospitalization. This is utterly ridiculous and should be criminal.”

“Their negotiated rates per procedure are so low on their dental that none of the good dentists will touch them.
I could only find one dentist in my area that was in network and reimbursement was so low he tried to balance bill me for the remainder.
And their customer service is a joke.”

“I have been with Cigna Health spring for over 8 years, mostly because the Cigna Central location in Phoenix, AZ, is one block away from where I live. I have had some problems, but nothing like what happened today regarding Civid 19 Vaccination. I was told weeks ago, that they would not be giving out the Vaccine. But today, I got an e-mail saying they were accepting future vaccine reservations, (though not available now). SO they not only had the ability to make a sign up for waiting list, but also a sign up for people who were available to be there within 20 minutes, for any extra doses at end of day. I signed up for that as I am less than 5 minutes away. The email did ask you to print out a form to have ready for an appointment. Just so happens, that my printer did not work. So I walked 1 block away to Cigna to see if they could give me the form to have ready. I do not expect to receive my shot before my time, but would be available quickly if called at end of day.
When I went over to Cigna to ask for form, no one knew what I was talking about. From Entrance, to information, to Primary Care, they all said Cigna was not ever doing Vaccines. The woman in Primary Care insisted that I did not know what I was talking about, there were never doing vaccines. She told me I obviously could not understand what “”Spam “” mail was. I told her it was real, but she said she knew what she was doing, and I did not understand spam e-mail. I am 62 years, 27 yr HIV positive with no illness and undetectable for over 20 years. I also have DID, and have been on therapy for over 25 years. I am very capable of taking care of my medical management. I have been very diligent in my isolating during covid. I lost all my friends years ago to Aids. Many great doctors, and my due diligence has kept me safe, and isolated, during this Pandemic. It would be so disrespectful to so many, and even Humanity, if I did not appreciate and work to keep myselp safe. So anyway, at 62 years old, being very successful in surviving 2 deadly disorders, I was told by Cigna Primary Care that I obviously could not even understand an e-mail. Or Spam. It seems the e-mail is real, but Cigna Corporation did not care enough to inform any departments, or employees, of their new policies. I luckily have connections with Bayless and Dignaty Health. I will change my medicare, never use Cigna again, as soon as I can. I have never felt so disregarded as a person, or patient, in 30 years of keeping myself alive.”
CIGNA has a lot of affordable plans in my area (TX) and I haven’t had any trouble with them so far.
