HAP has a strong commitment to making preventative health care affordable for all regardless of income levels.

Comparing Alliance Health Insurance Plans
When you are considering purchasing health insurance, whether it is from Alliance health insurance or another provider, you need to look at more than just the premiums you will be paying. Consider the level of coverage you will be getting under the plan. Getting a good price for monthly premiums is not much of a bargain if you aren’t getting coverage for the kinds of services you are most likely to use.
Another important consideration to keep in mind when looking at health insurance plans is the deductible you will be paying. This is the amount you agree to pay toward the cost of your health care services yourself before the insurance company will pay any benefits. Once you have reached this level, you will likely have to pay a certain percentage of the cost of your health care services and the insurance company will pay the rest.
Co-pays are also part of a PPO policy. Co-pays are fees that you pay directly to the doctor or hospital for office visits or hospital care. The amount of the co-pay will be set out in your policy documents. Be sure to read them carefully so that you understand exactly what you are paying for when you pay your monthly premium for health insurance.
If you have any questions about your policy or the coverage you have, be sure to contact the insurance company to get them answered. That way, you can avoid any disputes with your insurance company after you need to get medical attention. This insurance expert can answer your questions regarding providers like Alliance, and help you to determine whether a PPO or some other type of other plan will best meet your needs.

“I am really upset with HAP putting me on the standard insurance plan. I was not able to complete their Istrive survey on time due to their website technical issues. HAP put on the standard insurance plan instead of enhanced plan. BTW, The Istrive questions sucks.
The standard plan doesn’t cover much I have to pay lots of bill for no reason. Just for example, they are asking me to pay $56 for regular medical checkup.
In general, Obama should ban the insurance company altogether. The insurance companies manipulate the medical system. Total doctor medical costs are not much. The insurance companies hike the medical cost and take extra money from the subscriber’s salary. The insurance companies pays a fraction to the doctors of the hiked prices.”

“HAP might be a great company, but a terrible company to have insurance with.
I don’t want to repeat the same sad stories on the forum, but I would like to emphasize on the hopeless customer service. Every time I talked to a customer service representative, I was always treated as if I am asking for a favor and begging for it.
These are all experiences from people who dealt with the company, so make a thoughtful decision as your health is at stake.”

I want to take the I Strive test ,but can’t get into it on the internet. Would you please send it to me at my home , so I can fill out the form from my home. thank you

“We were forced into HAP by FORD. It is the worst company. Doris Biscoe should be ashamed to represent them.
They have repeatedly denied our son medication. He has severe allergies and needs singular. We have argued for five months. He was so sick that he lost 20 pounds.
I feel our lives are in jeopardy. If we want any health care, we better be able to afford it ourselves. I want National Health Care, anything is better than the clowns of HAP.”

“This company reminds me of the old commercials years ago about insurance adjusters “”What do we do…Say no….Deny the claim!”” The worst decision I HAVE ever made.
I am leaving Henry Ford Hospital because my children are not able to get the treatment they need covered. Treatment, I may add, that was previously covered by my prior insurance company at a cost of less than half of what I pay for HAP!
The best part is the customer service. I call and ask them specifically what I need to do. Get a referral, get a letter of necessity from your doctor yada yada then it will be covered no problem. You do every single thing they tell you too and they STILL DENY your claims! How frustrating.
I find it quite ironic that as a nurse my family has such horrible access to health care!! We would be better off on medicaid. At least they pay for therapies that are considered standard of care!
If you have a choice I would strongly advise you to choose a different insurance company.”

I need an MRI and hap won’t ok it . I guess hap want me in pain until I decide to call it quits all together. the American people will suffer with these type of insure companies. good luck with your health

This insurance company is ridiculous. Denying coverage and liability all the time. Any insurance company has to be better than this one. Trying to reach a customer service representative is difficult and they never seem to know what they are doing.

“I had blood test taken when I was still in hs and they did not send the bill UNTIL AFTER I graduated high school. They had the bill UNDER MY NAME. I had to pay $500!! I was out if high school and wanting to go to college, instead a lot if my money I got from relatives to go Bros college went to that IDIOT scum-sucking joke of an insurance company. And I could not pay all of it so my father HAD to pay for the rest.
Ever since this situation they have left a foul taste in the pit of my stomach!!
Now they are denying other coverage. You know instead of playing games they should just get to the point, “”mmmm yeah, we don’t cover counselling.””
The stuff above me us TRUE. SCREW THIS INSURANCE COMPANY!! SCREW IT!! I HOPE THESE JERKS GET FOUND OYT AND SUED!!! I could be totally vicious and give them just one star but I’m not as cruel as them. ;)”
-
HAP IS THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER! They are so cheap and don’t care about their customers. GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE! All they know is denial.
-
“Worst insurance company ever!
They denied coverage for a biopsy of tissue testing for CANCER for my husband. Really????
They denied coverage for my son after he was born because I did not call to let them know he was born…HELLO??? I was in the hospital giving birth to him!!!! I called them 3 days after his birth.
So…they refused to cover him from the time he left my body till I called 3 days later. I have to claim Chapter 7 because we cannot pay these bills, that is why I paid for insurance!!!”

“Health Alliance Plan is the biggest rip-off ever. In addition, They believe that it’s their duty to make decisions for their members. When one enrolls in HAP coverage, They choose who provides home care for you, they reject prescription discount cards and their grievance process is amateur and unorganized.
Not that it matters much because the final decision will be in HAPS favor. Not a Good Look and I’m sure they won’t be around forever and will be very happy when they disappear!!”

I work for a medical provider. HAP is HORRIBLE in processing claims. Their customer service is inexcusable. They do not want to pay and do everything to deny processing claims. They deserve a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT from both patients and providers. What are they doing, collecting premiums and pocketing the money?

“My frustration with this company is only rivaled by Verizon. Multiple legitimate regular health requests from my Doctor and specialists denied for no apparent logical reason. However, that is not the worst of it. It is a monumental task to attempt to unravel their incompetency.
Unfortunately, I have had to interact with their “”customer service”” reps going on 8 times now for a grand total hold time of 2 hours and 35 minutes within a two week period. Get different info depending on which person you talk to. A supervisor hung up on me. I filed a grievance. Absolutely, awful.”
-
“Terrible service, avoid paying claims any way they can. Doctors have to wait months for payment and will repeatedly contact you to help. HAP will say they will pay just so they can end the call.
I have tried to get a claim paid for 6 months now…HAP continues to say it is in process. I may have to pay MD and file for reimbursement which may never come from HAP.
Save yourself…avoid this company.”
-
Worst website and when you call in to talk to someone they are all rude and not helpful…. Piss on hap
-
“HAP–worst insurance company I ever had to deal with regarding health issue.
I see why some doctor office no longer accept HAP. It beats not having nothing but I wish my company would switch. What a headache for a simple test.”
-
I had hap until my son fell down and sprained his arm then they cancelled my policy and never sent a letter or anything… Now I can’t get insurance until Nov 15 under the new Obama plan… They were kind enough to mail me to letters questioning his fall from a year ago…
-
HAP has been the worse insurance experience I have EVER had. Rude and seemingly inept customer service workers. No electronic payments just snail mail. The biggest is customer service rudeness I’m done. Can’t wait till January 1st. I didn’t want to give any stars period !!!
-
“Stay away from this company!!
I had two different doctors refer me for a pancreas transplant & HAP kept denying. They make up excuses that get refuted by the doctors, then send a letter stating “”we stand by our decision””.
I DID get a call stating that they would cover the transplant AFTER I’m on dialysis, though! WOW, so my kidneys have to fail too before my pancreas can be replaced. GREAT!”
-
“The only thing worse than hap is NO health care insurance!
We have had hap insurance for at least 10 years and I have had to fight them almost every time we use it! Today they refused a cardiac stress test! They mixed up my account with another person and refused to correct it.
A supervisor told me I had to straighten it out, it wasn’t their job! You have to fight just to speak to a supervisor. You can never get a supervisor because they aren’t available!
Unfortunately, we are stuck because it’s through an employer. But if you have a choice don’t waste your valuable time or money! I wouldn’t have given them any stars but that wasn’t an option!!!!
Also, note that you will have trouble finding places that take it because they don’t want the never ending hassle that hap is famous for!”
-
“HAP is literally the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They discontinued my service with no notice whatsoever! After a year of having them as my health insurance, I received a letter saying that I was automatically enrolled for 2017 and they canceled my service anyhow!
Now I am without insurance for all of 2017 because I wasn’t notified in time to get a new plan. Do not use HAP, they are the absolute worst!”
-
“Hap denied me medicine that would cure my disease and save my life and then Hap denied my appeal. I do not have any outstanding bills and I always pay my deductible which is $1,000 and my doctor and specialists copays. Hap cares NOTHING about your health or life!
They’re quick on taking every dollar you have and then have the audacity to deny life-saving medication! Well, Hap I am finished with your services… And about the $250 left on my deductible for this year to pay well Hap your monthly payments from me is DENIED!”
“Worst customer service ever! They keep rejecting a bill from the hospital, the only answer I get is, “”Well, it shouldn’t have been rejected, this person is covered, just have them send it again””
how many times am I supposed to do this before the bill goes against my credit? The people in customer service are a bunch of rude idiots.”
